Types of workflows
The following types of workflows are reported on the Workflows table:
Bounded
Task
Bounded workflows start on a specific application or screen and end on a specific application or screen. These workflows are based on Production and Other work apps. Your system administrator defines those applications and screens, and works to assign the workflow tag that represents this workflow. If non-work apps are tagged for a workflow, these do not appear in the Workflows table. For example, to exclude Alt+Tab (task switching in File Explorer), the administrator could assign explorer.exe to a non-work category. If explorer.exe is then tagged for a workflow, the workflow does not appear in the table.
Your organization defines task workflows to track specific activities. Your Workforce Intelligence administrator works with other administrators in your organization to define the tasks that are sent to Workforce Intelligence. Workforce Intelligence then matches the timestamps for those tasks with the data that it collects from associate desktops to analyze what occurred during that task.
